Apple Inc received orders for more than one million iPhone 4S phones in the first 24 hours, topping the previous record of 600,000, the company said on Monday.

Step 1:

You can create a more secure password by starting with a simple phrase. For example, let's use a quote from Ogden Nash: "Happiness is having a scratch for every itch."

If we use the first letter of each word, and substitute 4 for "for", we get:

This is a reasonably strong password but we can improve it a bit by adding some special characters:

We can use our new password on several different websites by adding a prefix or suffix with a mnemonic link to a particular site. Let's use the first letter and the next two consonants in the site name.

Just to add a bit more randomness we'll alternate upper-case and lower case, and if the first character in the site name is a vowel we'll start with upper-case. To mix things up a bit more we'll use the same rule to decide whether to add the site mnemonic to the left side or the right side.

This is just one possible rule for picking the prefix or suffix that you use to customize your password for each web site. Reversing the order of the letters in the suffix, using only vowels, only consonants, or adding some other characters that come to mind when you think about the web site are all possible approaches that will improve security.

While this technique lets us reuse the phrase-generated part of the password on a number of different websites, it would still be a bad idea to use it on a site like a bank account which contains high-value information. Sites like that deserve their own password selection phrase.

“How you can Write protect your Pen Drive” or “How you can prevent your pen drive from getting infected”.

In the last post i had shown u the same @Make your USB/Pen drive write protected for PC. But this the trick how you can do so manually !!!  

Things to note before doing this:
    As the trick will write protect your pen drive, you will not be able to transfer anymore data until you disable it again (works best if you only wish to copy or read something from the drive).
    You need Admin rights to work upon the registry editor.
Steps to make your drive Write Protected:

1.    Open Registry Editor by typing regedit in Run dialog.
2.    Navigate to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\
3.    Find a sub key inside it named “StorageDevicePolicies”. If it does not exist there then we need to make it. Right click on “Control” key -> New -> Key. Name it “StorageDevicePolicies” without quotes.

4.    Now right click on this newly created key and then click New -> DWORD value and name it as “WriteProtect”.

5.    Modify this key and give it a value 1.

6.    Click OK, and remember to restart the PC.
Now no more data can be transferred to the drive but to start using the drive again just give the “WriteProtect” key a value of 0 instead of 1 and restart the PC.

The ad, from long-time agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab, continues the approach of previous iPad 2 commercials, basing the pitch around a simple open-ended setup. In the last ad, it was “If you asked.” It began, “If you ask a parent, they might call it intuitive…” and continued a series of “If you asked” scenarios.

The latest setup is “We’ll always,” which starts, “We’ll never stop sharing our memories or getting lost in a good book. We’ll always cook dinner and cheer for our favorite team,” which leads to the kicker: “But how we do all this will never be the same.” (In an interesting side note, the ad shows a child who has spelled out the word “lion,” a possible nod to the company’s new Mac OS.)

Given Apple’s success, it’s hard to second-guess the “product as hero” approach, which is strengthened by a warm voiceover by actor Peter Coyote. While there’s nothing new in the ad, it continues Apple’s attempts to woo fence-sitters who may be intimidated by the technology.

Combining Google Plus with Facebook and Twitter is now possible using Crossrider addon and certainly is the next best thing we can do as Google + is just upon arrival and may need much time to build contacts or to be familiarize with. By merely integrating it to our network of friends in popular social networking sites will simply make things much faster.

PLEASE DO NOTE that before installing Crossrider extension you should know that there’s currently a thread on Reddit here commented by RogueDarkJedi saying the addon acts like malware and the service is a security vulnerability waiting to happen and the extension is dependent on remote external javascript which Mozilla does NOT approve of such practices for reasons that could lead to MITM attacks and server security.

Crossrider is recommended by most established sites but we just doubt that the extension is completely safe to make use of. On the other hand, if you’ve installed the addon and want to remove it now, you can follow instructions by RogueDarkJedi here.

Is there anything that Google can't do? Google has just announced on its official blog that it can tell users if their computers have been infected by malware. If you're performing a search on Google and notice a large yellow box on the top of the screen telling you that "Your computer appears to be infected", then there's probably some unwanted software on your computer that could possibly be causing harm.

Besides issuing users the warning about malware, Google is also kind enough to provide links to resources to help them get rid of the problem. While there's no guarantee they'll detect 100% of all malware, or if the solutions they present can help, it's a lot better than having no warning at all. I guess they're also giving consumers one more reason to use its search engine over its competitors. I wonder if the rest will follow suit.
